On Golden Pond

Although waterlilies and lotus are fading, the spectacular golds and reds of the trees add bursts of striking color around the water garden. A reflective pond doubles your viewing pleasure of nature's riotous exit from summer.

Cattails stretch tall as leaves begin their descent into the gentle waters below.

A setting sun creates an interplay of shadow and light across the waterscape.

Colorful koi reflect the colors of nearby autumn foliage.

Impatiens mimic the pallet of surrounding trees.

A gentle stream weaves in and out of lacy reds and greens.

Wheat-colored landscape grasses and a lone pumpkin signify that fall has arrived.

Koi enjoy their final swim in the stream before hibernating at the bottom of the pond.

Crimson trees light the sky as dusk brushes its calming hand across the horizon.

Who could resist a peaceful rest on this bench with such beauty to behold?

  1. Oh Jennifer... these are such beautiful fall colors! I love your narrative that accompanies them.

There has to be a lot of "muck" at the bottom of the pond to shelter those gigantic koi!

Thanks for sharing at the Bunny Hop party again this week :)
