Freshen Your Landscape

Nothing makes a landscape sing like a melodic waterfall, babbling brook, or peaceful pond. That large expanse of grass in your backyard can be freshened with a breathtaking water feature - and let's face it - you hate mowing the grass anyway.

Here's your typical suburban yard ... well manicured green lawn with trees, shrubs, patio, and decorative fence. Not bad, but not great either.

But add a waterfall and voila! Your landscape now has a focal point and what's more, the kids will love sitting on the stones and playing in the water.

And on the other side of the house, we have your typical front walkway with symmetrical evergreens framing the entrance to the porch.

The evergreens were removed so that the homeowners could view their new water feature, a set of 5 bubbling rock fountains. Now isn't this a much better way to welcome visitors to your home?

More grass ... more hours spent mowing when you'd rather be playing.

And now, what a place to play and relax! A winding stream flows past a new seating area and right up to the patio.

A small berm creates a dividing line where backyards meet in a new subdivision. The berm and plantings create privacy between the small lots.

The addition of a waterfall helps to drown out the sounds of noisy neighbors and barking dogs.

Adding water to your landscape doesn't have to involve a lot of expense and work. Waterfalls and ponds can be cozy or expansive ... and fountains are always an economical choice. What type of water feature would you like to add to your garden?
